Great co-workers

Just a quick update to my last post. All of my coworkers who have talked to me or emailed me back have ben very happy and excited for me and very suppportive. They have also been very low key about it in the workplace which is what I asked for in my email so it has been good. In a way it's a relief that everyone knows so I don't have to be careful what I say.
Thanks to the kind comments you guys have left here on my blog also. I really appreciate your support most of all--it's great to have people who know exactly what you are going through.

Hi Mary,

I'm glad your co-workers are respecting your privacy and are being so supportive. It is very interesting to see who comes out on which side of the fence on these things. The enthusiastic support from those you never expected to provide it can be a real boost at times during this process.

That's great everyone is being so supportive of you. (As it should be.) I found that to be same in my case—my friends and coworkers were thrilled for me. Sadly, the only negative person was my mother. Brutally honest, she told me we were too old to adopt and that it would ruin our marriage.

So glad to hear! I have had one negative comment from a co-worker. She said that every child deserves a mother and a father, wether or not the mother and father get along or not. What?! What about a loving home and family, no matter how small or large for a child that has no home or love? You are going to make a great Mama to a beautiful Kaz baby! Lisa

Hi Mary,

Thanks for your comments...it is very funny that we picked the same bedding and are thinking of the same name (although spelling it differently.) Here's how I decided on Kathryn Rose...my name is Rose Kathryn. Rose is my paternal grandmother and maternal great-grandmother. My fathers two grandmothers were Kathryn (the one he knew) and Catherine (the one he never met.) Growing up, I never liked the name Rose, but I did like Katie. I wished that my name was Kathryn Rose instead of Rose Kathryn...there you go! Also, everyone in my family is named after someone. I know that my mother would love a namesake, but her name is Rosanne and a) I'm not crazy about that name for a little girl and b) it's so similar to my own name. With Kathryn Rose, she's happy because they ARE family names.
If I wasn't using Rose as a middle name, I'd probably use Grace...
