The waiting is really hard and it is so hard to not let it consume my days. I try to be patient and I try to have faith--many times I succeed but many times it's hard too. I have a blogger friend (Lisa) that is also waiting and when I really need it she always reminds me that "we are exactly where we are meant to be". Today I received the same email twice--both were from people that are close to me and mean a lot in my life. The email contained the following prayer that reminded me of that same thing so I want to send it out to Lisa and all the other waiting families out there--whatever stage of the adoption you are in:
Saint Theresa's Prayer
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be confident knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Actually you can apply that prayer after you and your little one home are home.
I'm sorry the wait has been so long. You have the paper chase period where every waking hour is spent thinking about the endless pile of documents that need to be completed. Once you send your dossier off, the relief period is welcoming yet you're on a roll and naturally want to see things moving along. But instead you've got a long waiting stretch ahead of you, which seems so unfair. But that patience will pay off--especially in-country and after you bring home your baby. I've found this process to be all about patience.
What a wonderful prayer! The waiting is hard and I, like you, find myself questioning my path, but it seems that when you are at that lowest point God sends a little something to affirm and encourage you just enough to get to the next day when everything looks a little different! Hang in there. No matter how long the wait everyday that passes is one less day of waiting and one day closer to our little ones!

Amen!
God will lead you and when you are finally united with your child, you will know why you had to wait.

We are exactly where we are supposed to be.....we are exactly where.............It's beautiful and perfect.
Thank you Mary.

Hang in there! I am sure it must be so hard to wait so long. I'll be there soon once I get mysef out of the dossier headspin...
The stroller you asked about is the Everbright. I love it and it does everything, as you saw on my blog. My real goal is the Bugaboo Frog, but that will have to be a "see what happens" registry item, as I can't afford it in the middle of the adoption! Let me know if you have any more questions!

I love the prayer and how it rings true in so many situations in life.
I can join the chorus in telling you that patience is the ultimate virtue during this trying process - and that, like labor to a mother who just gave birth - you'll forget all about the hardships when you are united with your child.
